DCC DECODERS FOR INTERMOUNTAIN LOCOMOTIVES

As our selection of N and HO scale locomotives continues to expand, we hear from more and more modelers who are curious about Digital Command Control (DCC) decoders for their InterMountain locomotives.

Although we do not make decoders ourselves, decoders for our N scale locomotives are available from North Coast Engineering. These decoders are made to fit our N scale FT locomotives (North Coast stock numbers NIMFT-A and -B) as well as our newest N scale engine, the SD40T-2 "Tunnel Motor." (North Coast stock number N12A0-E.) This same decoder will also work with the upcoming SD45T-2.

NCE has also informed us that they will make decoders for our upcoming N scale F3 and F7 locomotives.

We provided sample locomotives to Digitrax but to date we haven't been informed that they have a decoder specifically intended for our N scale locomotives. We recommend you contact Digitrax for more details.

Although no manufacturer makes a decoder specifically designed for our HO scale F3 and F7, the models include an NMRA eight-pin socket so equipping these engines for DCC is simple and quick. There is also room inside the HO F unit for a speaker, if you wish to use a sound decoder like those offered by Soundtraxx.
